Looks like our spam blocking software broke and disabled registrations entirely- Not a very good thing.

We've since disabled it and reenabled registrations. If you were having trouble registering before, please try again!

This means we'll probably get a handful of spamposts though- please report them if you see them.

Additionally if anyone has any recommendations for dealing with spambot registrations, let us know!

Haven't seen any issues since I enabled ReCaptcha. Lucky us!

I don't think there's really any issue with the forums themselves, just considering the popularity with little spam protection is going to attract lots of spambots- especially since this place doesn't have real registrations for most of the year.

Ideally we should clear the members database and come up with a good strategy for spam at some point since most registrations are spambots and that'll make the place a lot cleaner, but we definitely can't do that right now :p

reCaptcha mysteriously broke some time after I installed it apparently. Since it's been brought to my attention it's been disabled, so registrations should work again.
